MERRY JUL & HELLO 2014



SO YOU ATE A LOT.....OMG me too & it's all worth it...so worth it.
Christmas is not a big deal for the Boklunds, we are celebrating because everybody else is.
This is also why we could open through the festivity.

The in between & after math...possible weight gain....isshh don't worry!
Let's steal some deal form the ancient traditions.

Relax a few days with lighter food, let's look at the ayurvedic way of eating.

**BE MINDFUL**

When is the right time to eat....optimal time is in between 12-4pm...that is when your digestive system is at it's best. Basically graze through the day until 7pm...NO HEAVY FOOD after that.
I mean if you think about it, your stomach is never ledig the whole day, imagine if you have to work from 8-10pm, you'll breakdown too:) so give it a break.
Just water or tea from 7pm - 6.30am. Avoid fruits or any sweet stuff, because sugar ferments & it's super unhealthy for your intestines.
Again BE MINDFUL.

How much? 50% food, 25% liquids...i mean water! the balance 25%...is the space you'll let your digestive juice to take place!They need to churn your intake of the day.

ALCOHOL - hmmmm be moderate...ALWAYS have LEMON at home, slice 1whole lemon in 1 litre water, leave it out to room temperature, drink it before bed...no matter how gedebooosh you get.
Good to cleanse your liver before bed & hopefully wake without any HANG OVER!

On top of all this be on your mat at least 1 x a day, in & out of the hotroom.

I know it's hard, i really don't believe in diet but i strongly believe in eating pattern.
IT's not what you eat , it is WHEN you eat it.
BE smart & i'll see you in the hotroom.

i've always had a vision that yoga should be accessible to all.
When i say ALL i mean ALL levels of income too, although Lund is a very well off town, i noticed loads of peeps don't have that privillege...even with Gerdahallen just around the corner.
When we had karma fridays/sundays before & it did very well, we had to take it away when we expanded the schedule. The time has come to put it back in.

We strive to create a positive karmic ripple in everything we do, Maria Milla came home from her Moksha teacher training in September 2013 and she expressed her interest in leading the Community Classes to better develope her teaching skills and i can't think of a better way& a better person to do it!

Class type: Moksha Yoga 65mins at 15.00 - 16.05 Sundays - effectively from 1/12/2013

40DAY CHALLENGE



40day challenge started today!
41 people with individual journey:) It makes me happy to see that everyone is really ON it.

A few tips in regards of hydration & rest.
You need to drink at least 3litres of water through out the day. COFFEE,TEA & FIZZY DRINKS are not water:) UNFORTUNATELY!
There's HÄLSODRYCK  made by LEDINS whis is really good to maintain the health of your joints & mineral balance in the body. So take it daily:)
I am a big fan of Ledins product, they are made here in Sweden, they are sold in LIFE hälso butik!

Here's the breakdown of the product:)

KAMUT
Among other things Kamut has a Maganese in it.
What is Manganese.

Manganese

Kamut contains 2.09 milligrams of manganese in every cooked cup, over 100 percent of the Food and Nutrition Board's recommended daily allowance of manganese for both men and women. The body needs manganese to support the health of the nervous system, to aid in energy metabolism and to help regulate blood sugar levels and the absorption of calcium. It is also required for the synthesis of hormones, bone tissue, proteins involved in blood coagulation and the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase. People who consume plenty of high-manganese foods like Kamut may be less likely to develop diabetes, osteoporosis and arthritis.

Here it is guys, i've spoken about this for a long time:) Finally i've got the  timing is right !
My very first solo workshop at the studio, very excited!
Everyday i get a lot of questions regarding yoga practice both on & off the mat.
They are the same question i have for myself too.
Home practice is very important for all yoga practioner in all branch of yoga.  How ever it takes a lot effort but it's all worth it. You'll  have a clearer mind & fitter body.
A lot of time self practice is a very lonely journey, it starts a "noise" in your head...like self doubt, self insecurity so that is why a shala/space or a studio is an important compliment of yoga practice. Practicing in a community that has no judgement and sharing common goal of PEACE within the body will help to see life in a complete bigger picture. + we happen to have TROPICAL HEAT in our happy hut.
So hopefully this workshop will answer some of your questions...maybe mine too:)
As the challenge proceeds there will be more people at the studio practicing which makes booking for class is very essential.

INTENSED WEEK INDEED BUT IT'S ALL WORTH IT

 we weren't sure if this is going to work at all, WE took a chance that it'll work no matter what.
we had less then 10 people booked for class and however 58 yogis turn up & rocked it all out with 7000kr in hand, we are SO GRATEFUL. OMG. I still can't believe it.

the food went out flying too...very very good response, so good that we are taking the order right now for next week.
our friends from edmonton came to visit not knowing what they're getting themselves into and they came JUST IN TIME to help us out & they contributed so much, it would not be as much fun without them.
sometime when things doesn't show the clear signs, you have no choice but to leave it to universe to take care of things and be honest with your intention.....well it worked for us. it worked so well that we can count it in swedish kronor.

We were first approach by one of our regular teacher Djani thru a facebook event, i have a soft spot for this cause.
The only way out of poverty is through education, empowerment of knowledge is great.
I am not a big a fan of big aid organisation but this one feels genuine, this is a national effort to collect as much as we can via Radiohjälpen.
The funds collected is the use to independant swedish organization to reach out for help to these children in rural parts of the world.
I really want to make sure that this is a successful event, so please help me to spread the word.
This yoga marathon is so special all our teachers are teaching the class in exchange of their time & all the proceeds of the donation goes directly to Värlsdensbarn via RadioHjälpen, if you know any newspaper who can help us to spread the word please let them know of our event!

I LOVE FOOD and i care for what goes in the body as it effects my physical practice.
Having a cafe or an eatery is maybe the most natural thing to do after having a studio but running a cafe along the studio is probably not a good thing for me at the moment.
As you might have notice i am just a tad too picky with how things are done, as a consumer you want to consume something that is delicious and quick but one almost don't emphasize on where it came from or what happens after.
Food wrappers are probably the worse invention punkt slut. Papers vs Plastics...in the long run same same but different.
In Asia eating out is so cheap, labour is cheap...sometimes life is also cheap!!
Before the invention of styrofoam food packaging helvete...life was so simple, we had tiffin carrier, home made food delivered 4 tiers of joy. That looks like below, so typically you have rice at the bottom, curry, vege,& dessert on top!
Tiffin is delivered everyday for lunch or dinner or both.
annnnnndddd the best part of all is that there are NO waste!!!
Now that is a meal for goodness sake!!




We thought we want to give it a little twist & keep things transparent so you know the freshness of the ingredients we'll do our in a jar!!!

Nikki went to the Maple Country


This trip was a wonderlust.....i dont even know what that means.
The visa gave me grieve...i found more gray hair in those 10 days than in a year!
like all things it passed & i made it to Toronto with all things intact.
I visited a few studios in Toronto & took many wonderful classes.
The commuting & car sitting sessions are not for me nonetheless it is a beautiful city.
I understand now from their perspective why their fight for the environment are worth fighting for.
It takes roughly 30-45 mins to get u from one spot to another in Greater Toronto Area. 
My yoga peeps in TO are wonderful, they took care of me & we share many wonderful drinks & food.
OMFG food in that City was just amazing.

i cannot get enough of them.

I ended my trip in Victoria i the west coast of Canada.....O WOW!
My heart stopped....the view took my breath away.
I feel very blessed to be part if this beautiful sangha & i am so privilege that there's so much love.

all GREEN alternative to MEAT!



FEM ALTERNATIV TILL KÖTT!
(Kött, mjölk och ägg innehåller ca 10-22 gr protein / 100 gr)

Det finns två vägar att gå och man kan ju absolut gärna blanda dem!

Den första av dem är den ”enkla” vägen som består av frysta (vissa torkade), köttliknande halvfabrikat som går att köpa på de flesta matkedjor idag! Märken som finns och är välkända är Hälsans kök, Quorn, Anamma och på vissa utvalda ställen (samt i deras egna butik i Malmö): Astrid och aporna! Dessa är mycket enkla och snabba att tillaga genom t.ex. stekning eller grillning. Utseendemässigt ser de väldigt köttlika ut! Vad man bör tänka på i vissa av produkterna är det kan behövas mer kryddning, bl.a. Salt men även peppar och andra kryddblandningar. Själv använder jag ibland lite extra buljong eller fond för att få mer ”smak” på maten! Så fem exempel på dessa är:
1) Vegetarisk färs (finns i soja eller qourn). Lätt att göra istället för köttfärs. Bara att byta ut! Veggefärs med pasta äter nog barnen 1 ggr i veckan hos mig!
2) Vegetarisk korv och vegge bullar (finns som soja eller quorn). Här finns också på nya Coop ute vid Mobilia Astrid och apornas mer kryddiga alternativ (jag har inte smakat alla själv) men de är lite annorlunda och mer smakrika! Stek, grilla eller i lägg i korvgrytan! Barnen älskar ”bullarna”!
3)Vegetarisk filé och (gryt)bilar (finns i både soja och quorn) och är ”kyckling-alterntivet” och kan användas att steka, grillas (marinera dem gärna länge med mycket krydda – jättegott på sommaren) samt i grytor! De kan också bara ätas som de är i små bitar, det gillar mina barn! Gott till ris och eventuellt någon sås att doppa i. Annars vill jag rekommendera att steka dem sedan hälla på lite fond eller vatten+buljong så de blir saftiga och inte så torra!
4)  Vegetarisk burgare (både soja och quorn). Jag har flera köttätare i min omgivning som på sommaren föredrar att köpa Hälsans köks veggeburgare framför ”köttburgar” till grillningen!
5) Falafel (gjorda på kikärtor) finns att köpa frysta! Bara att steka på Malmöbornas favorit No. 1! Serveras med grönsaker, tzaziki i pitapröd eller något annat (kål tex).  Bästa ”äta-med-händerna-maten”!

Vegetarisk buljong! Vi jag rekommendera märket  ”Bio food”! Finns i tärningar eller på burk! Jättegod!

Pålägg!
Vad gäller pålägg på mackor som är så älskade i Sverige (tror många människor i princip lever på mackor) så finns det också ”skinka” och ”ost”-alternativ och här vill jag åter igen rekommendera Coop vid Mobilia samt Astrid och aporna. Morot och Annat vid Drottningtorget i Malmö har också en hel del bra produkter – alla ekologiska så klart! Det finns ett märke som heter ”Vegi deli” och jag vet att deras ”vegi ham style” tyckte mina barn var mycket goda. Den är inte så kryddig som tex Astrid och apornas alternativ. På Coop finns också vegansk ost som heter ”Sojapålägg”. Brukar ligga nära fetaost, mozzarella och smältostarna.  Sojapålägget är som sagt gjort på soja (och vetegluten tror jag) i finns i två smaker, en av dem heter ”som cheddar”. Även skinkan kan ha vetegluten i sig, kan vara bra att veta!  Vid denna avdelning på Coop brukar också tofun ligga – finns i naturell och marinerad (oftast). Välj den marinerade! Men inte på mackan… Ha den i salladen i eller stek den i bitar till maten!

Den andra vägen att gå är den mer veganska och raw food- inpirerande vägen.  Naturliga råvaror när de är som bäst! Det finns givetvis många bra alternativ och här får man prova sig fram vad man gillar bäst! Här är mina favoriter är dock (utan någon rangordning) och med lite näringsinfo:

1) Quinoa. Har 13 gr protein  / 100 gr. Quinoa är ett superlivsmedel som är mycket näringsrikt, innehåller bl.a. mängder med B-vitamin, järn, magnesium, kalium och zink. Quinoa har lågt GI-värde (34) och därför bra för blodsockret. Vidare är quinoa är ett optimalt näringsämne vid kontinuerlig fysisk träning! Då järn- och zinkbrist kan förekomma hos vegetarianer är quinoa är bra för dem.
Viktigt att tänka på är dock att quinoa innehåller ett bitterämne (saponiner), varför du alltid bör skölja i varmt vatten.

2) Havre.  13 gr protein / 100 gr.
Havre är ett superlivsmedel som är mycket näringsrikt, innehåller bl.a. bra med B-vitamin, järn, magnesium, fosfor och zink. Havre är även ett livsmedel som innehåller mängder med fibrer. Havre innehåller en hel del ämnen som gör havre till en antioxidant. Innehåller en hel del av aminosyran tryptofan som behövs för hormonet serotonin. Dessutom innehåller havre även alla essentiella (livsviktiga) aminosyror för vegetarianer. Havre minskar risken för hjärt- kärlsjukdomar. Havre/havrekli sänker det onda LDL-kolesterolet samt minska risken för åderförkalkning samt är bra mot inflammationer i tarmen. Havregrynsgröt är enkelt och nyttigt att inta innan fysisk träning! Stärkelsen omvandlas till glukos som lagras i musklerna som ger snabb energi! Innehåller även bra med proteiner! Havremjölk är även en perfekt sportdryck under träning

3) Bönor och linser. Te.x. sojabönor 34 gr, vita bönor 22 gr, mungbönor 24 gr, röda linser 24 gr , kikärtor 20 gr och mungbönor 22 gr / 100 gr.
Baljväxter innehåller gott om kolhydrater och fibrer och i många fall även gott om proteiner, upp till 20 - 30 % av torrvikten. De innehåller mängder med B-vitamin, bl.a. B9, folsyra, B1, B6 samt är väldigt rika på många mineraler som järn, kalium, fosfor, magnesium, zink mm.
Sojabönan innehåller lika mycket vitaminer och mineraler som kött och är därför ofta vegetarianernas favorit. Innehåller även en hel del av fett, kolhydrater och proteiner. De flesta baljväxter ger relativt mycket energi.

4) Nötter och fröer. T.ex. mandel: 20 gr protein, hasselnötter: 13 gr, cashew: 15,5 gr / 100 gr.
Nötter och frön innehåller generellt mycket fett (vilket oftast framhålls) , men dessa är bra och nyttigt enkelomättade och fleromättade. Men nötter innehåller lika mycket (om inte mer) protein än kött samt ganska lite kolhydrater och en hel del fibrer. De är goda antioxidanter och innehåller dessutom mängder med E-vitamin och B-vitamin, B9 - folsyra, B1, B6 samt är väldigt rika på många mineraler som järn, kalium, fosfor, magnesium, zink, koppar med flera. Nötter och frön innehåller aminosyran tryptofan som behövs för hormonet serotonin och motverkar depressioner. Nötter är bra vid regelbunden träning, gärna efter träningspasset!

5)(Baby)spenat. Spenat är en superlivsmedel och är en bra antioxidant. Den är otroligt näringsrik, innehåller bl.a. mycket C-vitamin, A-vitamin, K-vitamin och B9 -folsyra. Spenat är mycket bra för immunsystemet, det oorganiska nitratet i spenaten är bra mot högt blodtryck och tros även kunna öka prestationsförmågan! Den är också bra för muskeluppbyggnaden!
Överkurs: Alger! Intas lättast i pulverform som blandas i smoothies!
