everything in the US is larger than life...big portions of food, huge malls,huge selection of everything you can think off...it is a consumer base nation & country!
unfortunately greed & hatred is also HUGE! the fact that he is suing his own student & his so call right hand man is enough to clawed you in his ever so tight squeezed GARURASANA!
i hope things works out for both & we co exist peacefully. (doubt it's gonna happen but one can hope)

i have simple tips ** if you have decided to own & teach or just to teach his method of hot yoga & bikram yoga is sovereign saviour, you don't & can"t read the contract! just sign it & get on with your life with a happy smiling face** there is no other way!
trust the bloody process...otherwise there won't be hundreds & hundreds of Bikram Studios around the globe!

**sane & smart people reads everything before they sign otherwise it's called BLIND FAITH, me long sighted but def NOT BLIND:)

otherwise just be a plain simple SADHAKA or practitioner! yoga is good for all:)

Moksha Yoga

I am sitting in my bed, just finished answering emails, did my daily prayer & meditation, spoke to my husband & sent him off to work....look thru my facebook, updated...then I realised many things are happening around me & the studio.
A lot of things being said some of them have been hard to hear but mostly a lot of words of encouragement, I do have great support system. Thank God for that!
Whilst the studio is buzzing with work & a lot of ideas being scrapped but I am still here feeling stronger then ever."what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger"
I am living my moksha(means freedom in sanskrit), my freedom to think,live, breathe and my moksha to arise to with the occasion.
I am very proud to say that we are the first one in introducing MOKSHA YOGA, hatha yoga series done in a hotroom. I am beginning to see how excellent it will be for all types of bodies & ages and in no matter what physical state you are at.
gentle,less intrusive, very relaxing but still a cardio heart-pumping  training.
44 postures in a set sequence moving in a flow & intended to work through your body systematically.
another cool thing abt the moksha yoga is tht it is not the concept of do or die, students are given alternative postures - somewhere to start & something to work with & as u progress you will be able for to do the actual posture.
as what I've gathered the faculty of teachers in Moksha Yoga are renowned yoga educators , with a lot of published work, somewhat use as a text book material in a lot of yoga institutes around the world.
the most important thing is that it's about YOGA & it is not franchise, no royalty or royals, no ultimatum,no threats...the only thing that they are strict about is ECO & ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND STUDIO & CHARITY GIVE-BACK!
to help better communities & to bring more eco choices to the table so we can prolong our lives,our future generation's respectively.

sat in a tiny pantry with the key builders....only estrogen in sea of seasoned testosterone......almost spelled toblerone...anyways today's meeting was about absolute last changes like electrical points,height of switches.....small details that make the studio mine...funny i kep telling the boys...this is not a spa this a sweat joint....HOTspot....they gave me strange strange look...clean,raw & bright!

it's a battle,hustle...a DRAG...just a bloody drag!! i mean i love love the series...but how many lawsuits can you make in your lifetime....? what is your will always be yours...it's called FATE!

this confirms my doubts,my fears towards the bikram yoga studio policy....in malay it's called KUKUBESI, i am not only sad for YTTP but i am also sad for the boss himself....people will always remember the bad stuff, shooting yourself on your foot perhaps??

I didn't know if am happy that he wants to practice in my humble studio or that the renovation has started...i had a bad day yesterday & this is the news that cheered me up:)

well hotKIDS is having a great introduction in Lund...very excited, we've done 3 free demo classes with BMSL & tomorrow will be our $th & this time it'll be in another school Lovisa Skolan - 1st grader all 22 of them!

we taught our very first HOTkids class yesterday. Majula & Elise and i are probably the happiest kids in town...we didn't know any better...we had a BLAST!! of course the kids did too...PROMISE!..

we put on our clean socks...heheheheh!

the kids were so receptive & enjoyed it...well some of them did...(found out later from my son) 

what i found  astonishing  was that  9 year olds are still BUBBAS meaning they still have that innocence, not shy very open with hugs & lively imagination!!

now 10 year olds...are a transiting into a pre real people...young adult...they KNOW they matter & everything matters. how they say,think, they realized you are out looking in....

so cool to see & to see it with my own eyes!! i am gonna hug my 7 yr old extra kabooosh today...& forever!!

many many years ago a fortune teller in Damansara told me that no matter how much i studied i will end up making money/living with my body/my hands as in using my physical abilities like dance, designs, making things or ideas....not by using what i learn thru text books or a savvy businesswoman  **sigh**
well thank god i didn't spend 20 years studying neurons.......or eons! yoga is good enough for me!!

just playing around with pictures taken by my life partner Mr Boklund my pillar of strength and he drives me completely MAD! trying to save as much dosh i can to do my own press kit for local magazines and newpapers.
the posture/asana is taken by my colleague in my IPHONE and rendered in photo FX app and that is IT.
i am aware that pictures say a 1000 words however you don't have to have the best lenses or the latest equipment to capture a shot! i know that for sure because i've worked with one of the best photographers around the world, Siow Jen Hor, Paul Gadd, Simon Chin and many more.
i dislike NEPOTISM  but unfortunately this is how things work world wide! editors works with their prefered photographer, producers chooses their own director and a businessmen chooses their preferred bank, architect chooses their own builders and list goes on.....it's lightly put as PREFERRED customer/director/bank etc etc but it actually means i don't care who you are this is who i'll work with!
the whole world goes round just like the wheels on the bus in the above said manner and i HATE it!

good lord you only have 1 life just be different and stand for it!!

waiting in vain!

autumn is creeping in but today it's almost an indian summer. i love it!! days like this makes things bearable and full of possibilities!
these past weeks have been very challenging and fairly annoying....oh what a drag!! We did a study trip to west coast...Varberg & Gothenburg! Me and my teaching buddy Mia was up to no good and decided to see what west coast got to offer in terms of HOT YOGA....me oh my, it was so much fun....this is how our trip goes:
drove in Mia nasty mini vehicle - we were nastified & hungry!

** Isabel was very gracious to let us in, following the tradition of Bikram yoga studios to allow traveling teachers to practice for free otherwise it's 200 kr per class for drop in.

In total we enjoy the trip a lot and i personaly think it is very important to touch base with yoga studio around to just keep a healthy relationship. These people are not just yogis they are also human being with great compassion and empathy. We sometimes forget to co exist, limitation to adapt makes one a very up tight and very defensive. I am all for unity, we might not see with same eye but we must able ourselves to have the same vision, create a better and healthier communities.

I learn a lot about heating and ways to heat, room size,structure and logistic without sounding TONTIG all these elements is really important. A lot of things to learn and i am just at the beginning of my journey...SCARY but i can handle it!

When we came home & one advance class later whilst my butt still hurt....we are ready to do this again!!

It is incredibly hard for me to mourn the loss of my dad, this mourning period is kinda long but very healing. I lost my best friend 1998 and i was a broken soul and i was so down & out. I fasted and went on really strict mourning period but this one is different...after all this is my dad, i did spend a lot of time with him...well we mourn differently i guess.

i was invited to a few parties but it was so hard to turn it  down as i don't feel down but it is culturally forbidden for us to go out or to show that we are having fun or tone down.
In the olden days and  still in some of my family we don't even laugh or smile while mourning. GRIMM but it is just to show a sign of respect.

Next week i am praying for a better week and i am waiting in vain for many answers!!
so please please....make it a good one!!

my hero and my inspiration!

the head of my family, my bapak has passed away peacefully in Malaysia this afternoon(m'sian time).
i don't know how you write a post for that....but i am relieved that he is at rest and in a better place.

he made me what i am today, he tells me to always put your head up high and smile when things gets rough and never give up because at the end of the day he says "we are all made of the same thing"
it's just that we a made  differently - so no fear!

i shall not mourne of his passing instead i will cherish him just the way he is while he was alive. I am so blessed to have him as my Bapak/Father - funny,witty, amped up laughter,creative,a scholar & rockstar!

i love you Pak! You are my ROCKSTAR!

Do a posture a day keeps the doctor away

by the time we get into this posture I get a sense of relief coz I know that standing series is almost over & 2 minutes savasana is coming!PHEW!! but still you have the most important yoga - the floor series but it gets easier!
It's a bit like how it is with the current situation in regards with the renovation with the studio.
It is going forward but it's gravitating backwards.
I almost gotten everything sorted like booking & paying system, printing of name cards, staff members, HOTkids programming and all paper work for bank loan & account & the list goes on really....no stopping!!
I am truly blessed to be surrounded with good buddies whom I met through my years as Fru Boklund in Lund and my debut as a yoga teacher in Malmö! It really empowers me when people saw what i am made of & genuinely wanted to help me out, again I am very grateful

the website is finally up & running  and it is on trial. take notice on the look & feel of it & don't worry about the text or the language of the text. it is on TRIAL or MOCK UP, so i/we are toying  around with different ideas. mail me some feedback, i can only get better that way.

it is a monkey drinking fr coconut, my daughter is born is the year of monkey. she is a boklund's monki & the colour is inspired by the my son who is born in the year of dragon, red is for courage & prosperity! i hope that will be the case with the studio!

we did the website on our own, mostly my hubby and my 11 yr old son. we all chip in and contribute as much as we can.

good things come to those who wait!

we had an excellent meeting, i enjoy meetings with ol skools! traditional hardworker and they try to do this things the right way. i personally have heard many things about Swedish landlords  they are tough, square and hard to work with! i beg to differ however they are not easy but they are just like you and me, they are placed look & protect their interest and likewise for me too. so far with all "wood" touched, we have been blessed, they have been supportive,engaged and very thorough. i would like to keep it like this. it's like a firm strong handshake on both side! very grateful!
this meeting is the final meeting before we go ahead with the renovation and over looking the date lines & getting approval fr many many different bodies eg. from municipalities to suppliers.

paper work are endless however we are getting there, i don't really have a reason to be in a hurry, i want things to be thought through and understood! this business is for life (my life + the boklunds) and i intend the building will last as long too. it's a like a strong marriage!heehheehhe

up until now we've got very few hang ups here and there like some of the things we wanted to use were not approved for commercial use, like in

• the changing room, 
• fire escape - to build a new door or not
• an authorized (architect/vvs/town planner)person to draw the final floor plan - due to heavy ventilation, to make sure well circulation preventing molds & mildews , building thing at the right place!

to submit and re start the building permission/bygglov again. it could be worse, they are many hidden "treasure" in the Swedish construction law. i tell ya! a month later than promised is better than not being allowed to open at all....

meeting like this are essential, it makes things sit better and it makes me think better. so kudos boys!
the dates being pushed a little bit towards the year end, so now we're looking at x'mas or new year!...so it's will be a good nxt year for sure!!
but one thing for sure we will be opening for sure.....new year's eve yoga sound good too!!

it's good to be back on track and it's good to able to just BREATHE! things are falling into place, builders & project manager is back to work.

it will be smooth sailing from now on , well until the X'mas hols starts but by then the studio is up & running.

this what's going to happen in the nearest future:-

what classes are available?

all these classes above are classic hatha postures done in a heated room. they are done in sequence to work through your body warming up and massaging your internal organ to improve vitality of it's function. this also allows your blood to circulate better, feeding wonderful nutrients to every part of you and i do mean the WHOLE of you the tip of your hair to the tip of your toe nails.

the heat also prevents you from hurting yourself and it allows you to go deeper and reach those muscles you never new you had.

i want to be able to facilitate and offer a safe environment for you & your family & ultimately build a community of healthy & happy yogis.

every FRIDAY is a karma day where classes are taught at minimum price which allow you to try the different length of class. all proceeds will go to local charity organization of our choice. 

i hope to also bring you a new system of yoga called MOKSHA YOGA, i've applied for their TT training and waiting for answer so i am not gonna jinx it by spilling too much.

skolan börjar!!

groggy morning of the last weekend before school starts! what a holiday...i know the whether wasn't that great but i enjoy spending time with my kids!! never thought i'd say this but i will miss all the mornings we had the past 7-8 weeks!!
although we didn't travel this year or did anything fancy as i am working hard for the studio and hubby is working on his ilm & tv projects (it doesn't end!!) WE HAD A BLAST!
wonderful things are  happening in the development o the studio.
different programs are being prepared and discussed...EXCITING!

HOTkids program is almost complete and i cannot wait to publish it!!
i have decided to do 2 karma  classes (by donation only) every friday with the style of your choice. the website will be up soon!

i've been very busy with many different things that directly & indirectly will shape the direction of the studio.
right from the beginning i wanted to incorporate my heritage somewhere, somehow in the studio. ancient beauty secrets of the far east, old wives tales and tips. i grew up with JAMU,  it's a herbal concoction in either in a form of paste or liquid. in indonesia it's always sold by ladies who goes on foot or a street stall, everything is mixed by request. it's always mix with tea & raw eggs.

i am always intrigued by this, the ladies in my family always whisper their request  to the JAMU lady and she'll mix it on the spot & you are require to gulp it down in one breath. in serious cases you get a few days ration to keep it going until her next visit. it's always exciting when she comes around, she sit on her side and carefully takes her herbal bottles out and different powdered herbs & roots....and she calmly explain each herbal benefits. it's almost like being part of a live cooking cum biology class.

JAMU KUNIR (KUNYIT/TUMERIC) ASAM (TAMARIND) is one of the thing i remember very well, all indonesian house hold will have their own special blend. my mother is RAO indonesian and we have our own, however i prefer the javanese version. it's sweeter and YUMMIER!!

tumeric has many wonderful benefits and one of them is preventing inflammation or to heal minor cuts and it's also the perfect way to quench your thirst after a hot yoga session! it is also known for woman's health, vitality of the sexual organs and collagen production...aaand it gives you beautiful taut and tight skin. traditionally it's serve during post natal care or what we call confinement. it's also known to encourages milk production and this drink prevents engorgement.

from my chinese heritage i am exposed to  tang kuey or dong quai at a very young age. it's usually serves in soups and stews but mostly it's serve for ladies, it's a "female ginseng", traditionally serves to women after birth and good for your blood.

bikram studio shuts because of Hot Yoga...really??

i've been very adamant about opening a yoga studio that brings result..REAL RESULT...great feeling before & after!

this journey i started 4 years ago has been very smooth and the transition between student and teaching has been very very smooth too until i decided to take a step higher and greater like owning my own studio..yeah a GREAT idea right?? now i am able to see everything from both sides and it is not PRETTY.
like in all industries there will be bitches & angels and of course protectors of the right doing & wrong doing! you know...the correction police..it's inevitable.
the discussions i have been having lately (fr Jan to date)....between studio owners, students and The Source are always interesting.

the need to control is terribly immense and i recall there is saying.."if you love somebody, set them free" and so i must learn to let go...let go of worry & expectations! you can apply CONTROL in class but control in other situation makes you a control freak!! NO GOOD!

today i am  at junction where the other side is honestly....more delicious, cleaner lines, humane, headache less, financial flexi and of course GREENER!...timing is the key because i already know what's in my heart and i can't wait to share!! waiting for the que to move....

i've been under a lot of stress lately, i've been humiliated, belittled, insulted and disrespected however i still find myself questioning of the pros & contras of this style yoga.....there must be more behind this door...i know it....

everything happens and presented before me for a reason...i get it. i just got to believe in it 100% before i make a move!
once you impose and start to draw a line of difference where there is YOU & ME....everything will crumble down & like my elders said to me once  " THIS LIFE IS VERY LONG....WHY SUFFER WHILE YOU LIVE IT?" the BIG question is when? imposing fear, threat  and penalties is WRONG...i get sick to the stomach when i hear it!

The beauty of Lund...Domkyrkan!

Domkyrkan was buildt in the 1600...a magnificent cathedral in the centre of Lund.



we were taking our usual stroll with the kids....after a short burst of sun in the greyest sky we walked pass the cathedral & heard a choir....o wow!!!!
we had to go in to hear the angel sing...it is magnifico!
This is the ultimate true beauty of living a small city -all the happenings are always at an arms length!

what a grand monday!!

after all these chaos weekend with norway & amy wine house.... finally a beautiful birth of a beautiful beginning.............. MISS BETH is coming her visa have just been approved!! **i'm not gonna jinx it**
we'll wait untill the paper actually arrives in her hands in Aug!!

the one in grey in Beth and in black T.C.....these girls kept me sane during my TT journey. We laughed at & with each other.

something to look forward to!

we do live in a very challenging time. the fear for terror is getting greater, i was talking to a fellow teacher yeaterday that if only people do more yoga & be more inquisitive about the world and the cultures & wisdom one can exchange and learn from around the world none of this will happen.
i truly belief in this. if only everybody uses their maximum capacity in exploring this body & brains that given to you, this world will be a better place!
living in fear for the unknown is not a way to live. after all we are all human being!

next week's mission for me is to finalize the membership, i've decided to not have too many kinds of membership but giving people choices to adjust their memberships according to their needs.

the FIRST 100 HOTTIE will not only receive great offers & discounts they would also get many different kinds of flexi payments without any weird avgifts/fees however this only for the first 100.

i am starting to open for sale 2 months before opening so we can get a headstart financially and see how many classes we can afford to add on.

right now we are offering 24 classes a week, everyday 7 days a week. these are HOT classes. then we will have 5 HOTkids classes a week, 5 days a week.

while everyone is having a cozy friday, oslo was bombed in a spilt of a second. my heart really goes to all the victims of the oslo bombing and the people of Norway. it is truly time of terror, it is tragic. what has the world become? what is the point of it? is life that cheap? 

light a candle and think positive thoughts and send them your love.

what is the story? morning glory...

it's been raining and it's been wet these past few days...kinda cozy however fairly annoying! for example today i was planning to go in to malmo to advance med Maria...& guess what? it's POURING...yet again..**sigh**

anyway moving on...the studio concept & vision i have for the studio in the aspect of management and views are based on very liberal and logic ideas. i am a strong believer in sustainable and toxic free environment...many years ago when i was leaving in Hong Kong someone said to me...."there is a price for everything...what's yours?' it's not the PRICE TAG....it's what u are willing to payf for it!! BIG DIFFERENCE therefore i always have that in mind when i shop.

 i actually met & spoke to someone who thinks that carbon print is a propaganda...i was shocked and couldn't see him eye to eye after that. well life goes on..sadly. that bugs me! don't read what you want to know read what you want to learn.

i believe in locality (near produce) and sustainable lifestyle and  0 carbon print as possible. all choices for the studio is made with very concious & careful consideration  of environmment, shelf live, energy used, wastage, pre & post disposal and of course the financial factor whether it's material choices, yoga mats, cleaning stuff, furnitures..everything!!

I was a producer before and my husband is a film director...we are in the business of making things looks good or creating the eye candy...i am exposed to too many things for too long that i must look into everything..this is how i look at things

1. where to buy - who is the supplier, where are they made? etc etc
2. use - what's the shelf life? then i can decide how sustainable is it? looks?
3. how to get rid of it - how do dispose it? what do u use to dispose it?

most important thing is that i want the studio to fill with love, laughter and good health. I've lived in cities with more than 5Mil inhabitants...and i have narrowed down to 100,000 ..it's too quiet for me! 6 yrs ago we bought a house where nobody wants because it's at a junction....& i LOVE it, my nxt door neighbour is willing to pay if we could put some kind of wall...why live in town if don't want the noise? that is the question isn't it?

all in all sweden has very very high standard in building. my house is built in 1924...in Malaysia when we say this building is old it means 40-50yrs old...when i tell my family in M'sia my house is 80 something they freak out and ask if my house is haunted??

I went by the studio yesterday with my good friends Mans, Lena and their kompis Malin, we bumped into my "first" neighbour and she is thrilled that it's going to be a yoga place although she doesn't know exactly what it is. She was relieved that it's not a cafe or restaurant as it wld smell!!
I said ooohh! Don't worry we'll b hot,sweaty and half naked but we smell good!! She has plans for me already...ain't that grand??...I'm planting flowers with her nxt spring! That is truly HOT!

I'll be looking thru and finalizing the opening plans and promotions and interior hunting for the studio!
The big boys (contractors) are on holiday so I get some peace too!
